Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Amazing Learning Hub is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all children and young people who use our platform. This policy applies to all tutors, staff, and anyone acting on behalf of Amazing Learning Hub.

1. Our Commitment

Amazing Learning Hub takes child safeguarding seriously. We are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and supportive learning environment for all students, particularly children and young people under the age of 18.

2. Tutor Vetting

  • All tutors working with children are vetted prior to engagement
  • Tutors working with children in the UK are required to hold a valid enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
  • Qualifications and references are verified before tutors are onboarded
  • No unvetted tutor is permitted to deliver sessions to a minor

[CLIENT TO CONFIRM: DBS check status for all tutors working with UK-based minors]

3. Session Conduct

  • All sessions are delivered via a designated video conferencing platform (e.g. Zoom or Google Meet)
  • Sessions with children should take place with the knowledge of a parent or guardian. We recommend that a parent or guardian is present in the home during sessions
  • Tutors must not initiate or continue private communication with a student outside of the agreed platform and session structure
  • Tutors must not request or accept social media connections with students under 18
  • Session recordings may only be made with the explicit consent of the parent or guardian

4. Recognising and Reporting Concerns

If a tutor, staff member, or parent has a safeguarding concern about a child — including concerns about abuse, neglect, or inappropriate conduct — they must report it immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL).

  • Nigeria: National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP)
  • US: Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline (1-800-422-4453)

5. Online Safety

  • Tutors must not share personal contact details with students or their families outside of the platform
  • Tutors must not share any content that is inappropriate, offensive, or unsuitable for a child
  • All communications between tutors and families must remain within appropriate professional boundaries

6. Data Protection of Minors

We handle the personal data of children with extra care in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018. Children's data is only collected where necessary to deliver tutoring services and is never shared with third parties except as required by law. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

7. Policy Review

This policy is reviewed annually and updated as required to reflect changes in legislation, guidance, or organisational practice.
